So where do I start? I figure that I have a decent vocabulary for someone who never made it to elementary English. What I need to work on is spelling, grammar, and creativity (uncloging the flow of words from my brain). And if I work on this enough then my vocabulary should automatically grow as well.
The biggest issues that I will have keeping up with this is time and material.
- Time: it takes me way too long to write. In fact i have been working on this for an hour already. Therefore unless my pace picks up really soon, this might end up being one big failure.
- Material: coming up with new material is hard. Therefore I will stick to one subject a day. And if I think of more then one topic, I will keep it for the next day.
So here it is, this is my first post. Of course there still are issues that have to be worked out. Such as how often will I post? Every day? But that will take way too much time. Especial in the beginning. Plus that makes it like working out; once you miss one day your screwed, you never end up doing it again. Do i post three times a week? But then I am only delaying the inevitable and it will take longer until i can write fast. But this discussion is not for now. Lets start counting the days.

Coming from a similar background to yours I feel you pain and can relate to every word you wrote. although i've developed a rich vocabulary, my problem is that it takes me a long time to write and i find myself continually backspacing every few words.
i will keep checking your blog for inspiration and encouragement.
good luck on your journey!
Great blog glad you are bringing up these issues.
Thanks to all for the encouragement, I need it.

btw.. reading helps just as much - if not more - than writing!
I love reading. I have been reading since I was a small child. Never paid attention to how things were writen untill I started blogging.
